Guided Meditation to Meet Your Power Animal: Tap into Your Inner Strength

Meditation is a powerful tool for accessing our inner wisdom and connecting with our deepest selves. Guided meditations can be especially helpful for those who are new to meditation or have trouble quieting their minds on their own. 

I actually prefer guided meditations because quieting the mind is something I've never been great at.

In shamanism, your Power Animal is an important lifelong companion who can help you keep and maintain your power, help you in challenging situations, and more.

Your Power Animal is a symbol of your inner strength and can provide guidance and support on your journey through life.

In the meditation below, you’ll be visiting the Shamanic Lower World to meet your Power Animal. There are many variations to this meditation, so if it doesn’t work the first time, continue to try and add your own style to it so that it works for you!

Power Animal Meditation

To begin the Power Animal meditation, find a quiet, comfortable place where you won't be disturbed. Sit or lie down and take a few deep breaths, allowing yourself to relax and let go of any tension in your body.

Next, imagine a tree on the horizon. Walk towards this tree and at the base of it, you'll see a door. Enter the doorway and inside, you'll see a tunnel traveling down into the earth.

Walk or move down the tunnel going deeper and deeper, until you see an opening. This will be the Shamanic Lower World. A safe place in the natural world where you can meet your Power Animal. Continue out into the Lower World.

Take note of the natural setting in which you find yourself. Visualize yourself walking through this environment, feeling safe and protected.

As you continue walking, you will reach a clearing. In the clearing, you may already see an animal or you may wait for one to approach. This is your Power Animal, and they have come to guide and support you.

Take some time to connect with your spirit animal, observing their appearance, behavior, and energy. Ask them any questions you have or simply allow them to offer you guidance and support.

You can also ask them for healing, here. Watch and observe what they do, and where they may lead you.

Once you feel ready, thank your Power Animal for their presence, guidance, and healing. If you wish to integrate with your Power Animal and bring them back with you, hold out your hands and ask them to come with. They will shrink down to fit in your palms, then place your hands to your chest.

To leave the meditation, imagine yourself returning to your physical body. Take some time to reflect on your experience and any insights or messages you received.
